Palm Beach Gardens, FL - by PB State College - Palm Beach State College will present Sonia Paez, national sales director at Mary Kay Cosmetics, in a talk titled “Changing Lives All the Way To The Top!” from 8 to 9:30 a.m. June 5 at the College’s Palm Beach Gardens campus.

The presentation will take place in the BioScience Technology Complex, Room SC127 as the second in a series of talks this year through the Women’s Empowerment Forum. The cost is $15. Registration and breakfast will begin at 7:30 a.m.

Paez, now a self-made multi-millionaire, was the youngest in her family of nine children born in El Salvador.  At the age of 17, she came to the United States full of uncertainties. She was determined to learn English, while she held two jobs at an auto-shop and chiropractic office. It was at the auto shop where her destiny found her.

“The morning I treasured most in my heart is when a lady showed up with her pink Cadillac for repairs and invited me to a weekly unit Mary Kay meeting,” Paez explains, “For me the Mary Kay priorities—God first, family second and career third—were exactly my beliefs.”

She became the company’s first Hispanic woman named as executive national sales director in 2000. During her 25-year career, she has mentored and developed the sales careers of more than 15,000 women globally. With her leadership skills, Paez has extended her legacy by training and developing seven national sales directors of diverse backgrounds.

Reservations can be made online here or by calling 561-207-5708. The event is sponsored by PNC Bank, HERLIFE Magazine and Oceana Coffee.

The Women’s Empowerment Forum is presented by the College’s Corporate and Continuing Education (CCE) division, which provides training opportunities in a variety of professional leadership topics. CCE offers individual courses, customized employee training, professional certification exam prep and special offerings like the Leaders Empowering Action Program designed to help managers become leaders.
