West Boca Medical Center to Modernize Maternity Suites for Enhanced Family Experience

West Boca Medical Center

“The goal of our Birth Care Pavilion is to provide the best total obstetric experience from delivery to discharge”

July 8, 2014

Boca Raton, FL - The Birth Care Pavilion at West Boca Medical Center will be renovating and refurbishing its Labor and Delivery Unit, Post-Partum Unit and Newborn Nursery beginning in June. The Birth Care Pavilion, comprised of 33 patient rooms, 45 beds and a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), will be made to look and feel like a spa.

All patient rooms will be furnished with upscale vanities, wardrobes, window coverings and furniture, including a recliner, a sleep bench for overnight visitors, guest seating and a bedside cabinet. All bathrooms will be updated with new floor and shower tile.

Labor and delivery rooms will have new baby warmers in addition to new bassinettes. Selected rooms will offer accommodations that include workspace for dads, sleeping quarters and wireless Internet connection. This environment will provide comfort to dads and other family members, while also allowing them to cater to their personal needs. They will easily be able to keep their family and friends updated throughout the labor and delivery process. Renovations also include converting some of the post-partum rooms into private rooms.

“The goal of our Birth Care Pavilion is to provide the best total obstetric experience from delivery to discharge,” said Mitch Feldman, CEO of West Boca Medical Center. “With these improvements, our birthing suites will foster a more private, comfortable atmosphere for new mothers, babies and their families.”

The project is scheduled to be completed over a 12-month period using a phased approach, so that after each room is completed, it will immediately be available to patients.
