Spa Francorchamps, Belgium - by Jakob Ebrey (ELMS Media) - The current champion of the European Le Mans Series, Memo Rojas Jr., is already on European soil to compete this weekend in one of the emblematic tracks of international motorsport, Spa Francorchamps. Like the vast majority of pilots, this route nestled in the forest of the Ardennes, is the favorite of the Mexican midfielder, and there will look for a victory that will put them fully in the fight for the title.
After the podium obtained at Silverstone last date, the mood is through the roof and with just fine tuning some details prior to the competition, the Mexican along with his teammates, could be back in the fight, being a stroke that can help them for the good behavior of the car in the curves of the Belgian circuit.
The Oreca07 / Gibson of IDEC Sport Racing has been improving since the beginning of the season, and the initial fears about the behavior of the Michelin tires were dissipated with the running of the calendar. Today they arrive at Spa with good chances of a satisfactory result.
There will be a practice on Friday while on Saturday the second one will take place, for later at 6:54 AM, time of the Center of Mexico, the qualification of the LMP2 is carried out. On Sunday, the competition will start at 5:30 in the morning, time in Mexico City.
"This is my favorite track of the entire serial. It's a track that I really enjoy because of its combination of fast, slow curves, elevation changes, and curves like Raidillon, Eau Rogue and Stavelot, which test the rider's ability. Obviously the goal of this weekend is to look for the win. We are fighting the title and although our main rivals in the championship have taken off, we still have mathematical opportunities to reach the title, so we will do everything possible to achieve it. I want to thank my sponsors Telcel, Escudería Telmex, Banorte, Red Bull and Office Depot."
