Turn downsizing from your Downton Abby into charity to benefit the Armory Art Center

West Palm Beach, FL - by Jeanne Martin - What do you do when you need a change of view? Take Home a Nude from the Armory Art Center’s silent auction on Thursday, January 7, 2016.  Linda Silpe and Jan Willinger, co-chairs of the event, are making exciting and creative plans for this much anticipated event. Guests will have the opportunity to bid and take home work in 2D and 3D by noted artists and collectors. Pieces up for bid include photography, sculpture, jewelry, glass and choice crafts. 

Benefiting the Armory Art Center’s visual arts education program, Take Home a Nude “celebrates the collector in everyone,” stated David Veselsky, chairman of the Armory. Veselsky added “This is the most fun, interactive event of the season and will include art for the serious collector as well as the sophisticated and casual buyer. Linda and Jan have dedicated a tremendous amount of time to making sure this is a rich sensory event—art, music, and dinner by the bite. They are both passionate about the arts and arts education and we are grateful for their participation.” 

Take Home a Nude will feature work created by renowned and local artists including Kim Dingle, Juan Miro, Tommy Morrison, Ellen Liman, Pamela Acheson Myers, Gina Porten, Fiona Tan, Steven Manolis, Jill Wiseman, Rene von Richthofen, Vivian Wang, Bruce Gendleman, Bruce Moskowitz, MD, Jane Manus, Nancy Ellison, Sassno, Susan Nash, Skip Mizelle, and Steve Caras.

The Armory Art Center is a not-for-profit community-based visual arts education and exhibition center providing opportunities for individual growth, self expression, increased awareness and appreciation of the arts through participation in studio art classes, exhibitions, lectures and other educational programs. Celebrating 30 years, the Center educates, enriches and engages a diverse population through the “experience of art.” Classes in ceramics, drawing and pastels, painting, watercolor, collage, photography, jewelry and metals, sculpture, stone carving, and more are offered year-round and on every level.
