Computers will be available for parents to register children and apply for summer camp scholarships.
Belle Glade, FL - (by CRL Media) - The Palm Beach County Department of Youth Services, in collaboration with the County Public Library System and the Palm Beach Board of Children's Services, will host the Family Resource Fair and Summer Camp Scholarship Enrollment, this Saturday, March 4 at the Belle Glade Library, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. to 2 p.m.
The event is designed to help families see if their children qualify for free scholarships and sign up for school summer camps. Computers will be available at the fair, as well as trained personnel to support the registration process.
The scholarships offered by the Youth Service for summer camps are completely free, including registration and enrollment costs, and children from 5 to 14 years of age can qualify, as well as minors with special conditions up to 17 years of age. The registration process began on January 30 and will be open until April 14, 2023.
To complete the registration process, parents must bring required documents, including identification, proof of Palm Beach County residency, child's birth certificate, and free or reduced school lunch letter or a salary slip.
The Family Resource Fair will feature other agencies supported by the Palm Beach County Children's Services Council (CSC), including Healthy Mothers, Healthy Babies, Safe Kids, Home Safe, 211, Bridges of Belle Glade and the Early Learning Coalition. A representative from the PBC Latino Families Facebook group will be on hand to invite members of the Hispanic community to join. This channel informs the Hispanic community about the programs and aid that CSC offers through its agencies.
The event will also have music, snacks and activities such as face painting for the little ones.
